How To Get Chronological Instagram Feed?

Instagram users can finally rejoice as it has switched from an Algorithm feed to a chronological feed after almost six years. The algorithm feed pushed consumers to view posts and stories depending on how they used Instagram, rather than seeing all posts and stories from their following accounts. However, Instagram is now experimenting with new feed formats, one of which is a chronological feed. So, here’s how you can get a chronological Instagram feed.

How To Change Or Switch Instagram To Chronological Order?

In March 2022, Instagram reintroduced the chronological feed, but you won’t see it on your default feed. In addition, none of these new tabs may be selected as the default feed. Instead, you’ll have to navigate the Favorites and Following tabs independently from the feed switcher in the top-left corner.

Difference Between Instagram Favorites And Following Feed

The social networking app added two new options this week that alter how users may access their Home feeds. The first option is “Following,” which lets you view your Home feed in chronological order, with posts and stories from the accounts you follow appearing in the order in which they were published.

The second is “Favorites,” a condensed feed containing posts and stories from accounts you’ve marked as “favorites.” It’s important to note that you should follow the person to add them to your Favorites list. You can add a total of 50 accounts to your Instagram Favorites list.

How To Make Instagram Feed Chronological?

According to the platform, users will be able to manually turn on the chronological version every time they access the app.

On mobile, switching your Instagram feed to chronological order is relatively straightforward, and you may explore multiple different versions of your feed.

  1. Launch Instagram.
  2. In the top left corner of the main page, tap the Instagram logo.
  3. Next, select ‘Following’ from the drop-down option. In a different version of your feed, you’ll be able to see posts from the individuals you follow in chronological order.

4. To see their posts first, you should add them to your Favorites list. Tap the Instagram logo and select “Favorites” from the dropdown menu. To add accounts to your Favorites list, go to the next page and touch “Add favorites.”

5.  You can also search for the account you want to add to your Favorites list by typing in the username. Then, simply press the blue “Add” icon next to its name to add an account. After selecting all of the accounts, click “Confirm favorites” to add them to your list.

To return to your current Instagram feed, repeat the procedure and select ‘Home.’ Next, choose ‘Favourites’ if you only want to view posts from specific accounts. Also, remember that you must manually add accounts to your favorites list.

Conclusion

It was a quick guide on how to get a chronological Instagram feed, and we hope this tutorial was helpful. Also, the method to change the feed is the same on both iOS and Android devices. At the time, Instagram does not allow you to designate the Following chronological tab as the default feed. We hope Instagram adds this feature shortly.
