- Open your iPhone settings app.
- Go to apps and scroll down to WhatsApp.
- Toggle off the allow notifications section.
- You can also toggle off alerts for your Apple Watch and the sounds.
- You can further scroll down to In-app notifications and toggle it off.
You will now not receive any alerts from WhatsApp whatsoever. To avoid this, you can use the in-built mute notification feature for chats, groups, and calls.
Mute All Notifications From WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp on your iPhone
- Go to the settings tab and tap on notifications.
Here you will find notification settings for messages, groups, and calls. Also, at the top, you will see conversation tones. Of course, you can toggle it off too.
- In the messages section, tap on Notification tone and switch to silent/none.

The process is similar to that of the iPhone, but the difference is in the interface. And some steps in WhatsApp are different. All things aside, here’s how you can mute notifications on Android devices.
- Open the setting app and go to notifications.
- Now, tap on App notifications and search for WhatsApp in the search bar.
- Tap on WhatsApp and toggle off allow notifications.
