Step 1: Open your Facebook Page

After you have decided to add an admin to a Facebook page, you need to open Facebook on your desktop and log in.

Next, click on Page from the left navigation menu. You will now see all your Facebook business pages. Next, click on the FB page to which you want to add a new admin.

Step 2: Select the Page Role Tab From Page Settings

Once on the FB page, open the page settings by scrolling to the bottom of the “Manage Page” section on the left. It’s below the edit info tab.

Now you will see all the settings of your page: Messaging, Page info, Template and tabs, notifications, Advanced messaging and Page roles. Go to Page roles to add admin to your FB business page.

You can manage roles for your Facebook page from the page roles like admin, editor, moderator, etc.

Step 4: Make a user an admin on the Facebook page

Click on the “Assign new role” option to give admin access to someone on your FB page. There are two ways to do it.

Using email address: You need to ensure the email address you use here is the same one the user has linked to his Facebook account. Any other email address will not work here. Again, it’s easier to use method 2.

Using Username: You can put in the user’s full name and then choose the right person from the list of options prompted on the screen. Ensure you click on the right name, or you will make some random person an admin to your FB page by mistake. It’s easier if the user is already your Facebook friend.

After adding the person’s name, choose the role you wish to assign from the list on the left. Next, you will be asked to fill in your password for verification.

Step 5: Check the existing roles section of admin on the FB page

You have made someone an admin to your page, but the process is incomplete. You will see a pending red tag under your existing roles section until the user accepts becoming an admin.

After they accept the role, the new admin will be listed under the existing roles section. You can edit, change access and even remove users from this section by clicking edit.

How to Add Admin to a Facebook Page on Mobile?

  • Open Facebook App on your mobile
  • Head to the hamburger icon at the bottom

  • Open Facebook App on your mobile
  • At the bottom, tap on the hamburger icon.

  • Tap on the settings icon at the top
  • Go to Page Roles
  • Tap on Existing Page Roles
  • Next to the person you want to remove as admin, tap on the edit icon
  • You can change the page role of the admin or remove them altogether from your Facebook page.
