This feature is currently being tested and will be available for Android users. You can update the app or download the 2.23.8.2 version to access this feature. So you no longer need another third-party app to secure your chats. You can lock a particular chat on WhatsApp by using the in-built locker.
All media files, audio, and documents will be protected along with the messages. That means they won’t be automatically downloaded in your phone’s gallery. Instead, you must unlock the chat and then manually download the media files or documents. This feature is very similar to the archived chats on WhatsApp.
But the only difference between the archived and the lock feature is that no one else can open the locked chats until they know the passcode. So if they try the authentication process several times, they must clear the entire chat to open it.
How To Lock WA Chat?
The lock feature will be available within the chat’s contact or group info. After you add a chat to this list, you can only access it with your fingerprint and face lock or the password for WhatsApp.
If you can’t see the lock WhatsApp feature yet, you must download the 2.23.8.2 version from the Google Play store. Also, this is still in the beta phase, so you need to wait until the feature is rolled out completely. If you’re an iOS user, you won’t be able to access the feature currently as it is in the development stage.
